Candidates over the age of 18 (including senior citizens) who wish to enter the automotive industry as a light vehicle mechanic can apply. The target audience for this course is domestic students who wish to acquire the skills, knowledge, and practices necessary to find employment in the automotive retail, service, and repair industries.
- Must be of a minimum age of 18+ at the time of course commencement.
- Candidates must have successfully completed at least grade 12 or equivalent. Or completed studies equivalent to an Australian Year 12 qualification from an English language speaking country.
- Students may be required to undertake a few assessments of their Pre-Training Review (PTR) Test & Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) test as part of their application process. Successful completion of LLN test is mandatory while applying for the qualification, before enrolment.
This course provides the skills and knowledge necessary to perform a broad range of work on a wide variety of light vehicles in the automotive service and repair industry. The Certificate III Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology prepares new employees or evaluates and promotes existing workers to perform mechanical work in the automotive light vehicle service and repair industry. Job duties related to this qualification include light motor vehicle mechanics.

After successfully AUR30620 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, students may apply for: AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis or other relevant qualifications.
